What is the Barbara Stanny Affiliate Program?

Barbara’s best-selling books convey an encouraging message: when you take charge of your money, you take control of your life. Through her books and other products Barbara teaches women how to map out their financial futures, and shares her secrets for personal empowerment. By joining our affiliate program, you have the opportunity to help spread the word and earn a commission for every referral purchase at the same time.

Here’s how it works: When you sign-up as an affiliate, you’ll be given a unique URL that must be used in all of your promotional materials. This URL will tell us where a referral has come from and allow us to credit you as the affiliate. When Barbara’s products are purchased through your affiliate link, you earn a percentage of the sale. It’s that easy.

How do I sign up for the program?

Sign up here to join the Barbara Stanny affiliate program. Your unique URL will come to you in a separate email after you sign-up.

What is the commission structure?

Commissions are calculated at 8% of the retail price of the product (exclusive of shipping and handling, of course).

How will I get paid?

Barbara Stanny affiliates are paid monthly. If your earnings for any month are less than $20, the total amount will be carried to the next month. To simplify the process and keep our administrative costs in check, we’ll use PayPal to process any commissions earned. If you don’t already have one, you can sign up for a free PayPal account here.

Because of our 30-day return policy, there will be a one-month delay between purchases and commissions being paid. For example, sales made through the end of November, won’t be paid until January. This will allow us to track returns and adjust the commission records accordingly.

What forms of promotion can I use?

Depending on how creative you want to get, you can create a banner ad for your website. You may also place links in newsletters or your opt-in promotional emails. Or, you can just send an email to your network of contacts.

We’ve provided some copy for you to use to promote Barbara’s products and we trust that you’ll promote them in a way that reflects positively on her.

The most important thing you can do is include your own endorsement in the marketing copy. If your readers feel you believe in the products, they’ll be more inspired to learn more about them. Just state in your own words why you think the product could be useful to your readers. For example: “I routinely recommend Barbara Stanny’s books to my clients and they always thank me for it. Everyone can relate to her message of financial empowerment, regardless of their current earning level.” When you get feedback from people on your mailing list, you can add their testimonials.

Another good way to present Barbara’s products is to write your own review. You already have credibility with your audience, so they’ll trust your recommendations. In fact, studies show that a personal recommendation can increase your referrals by as much as 416%!

How can I “cloak” my affiliate link?

Because the unique affiliate link you’ll receive is a unique URL or web address, we’ll be able to track referrals to each affiliate based on their unique URL. The affiliate link you’ve received contains a string of letters and numbers—that’s your unique identifier. But it’s also hard to remember! It makes it awkward to promote the link in print or in any medium where you can’t hide the link behind text or an image. Providing your friends and colleagues with a long and complicated link probably isn’t the best option.

You have a couple of options:

1. You can secure your own domain name to use for this purpose. Then simply redirect your new domain name to your unique URL, which disguises your long, hard-to-remember affiliate link.
2. If you have your own domain name already, talk to your webmaster about your options.

How do I check on the sales I’ve generated and commissions earned?

Just use the username and password you will receive once you sign up for the program to login to the support center so you can check your account statistics online.
